How to do great work: A reading list on careers and growth
From 2 years of the CMO journal, 6 essays on building your marketing careers
When I started working, there were no real resources to tell me how to go about building a career. I just had my managers, who were really good, but busy. I was also part of engineering heavy organisations in which marketers were at times add-ons.
I didn’t have a map, and stumbled a lot. But I found my way through, something not everyone I knew then was able to do easily.
This newsletter is partly an attempt to address that need.
As I was writing last week’s edition, it struck me that I had now written a few essays on careers and growth, and now seemed like a good time to revisit them. For older readers, they may serve as refreshers. For newer ones, they may help uncover something they are looking for.
